Out of stock
Two cooking guides and recipes books from McDougall's, designed to encourage the home cook to use its self-raising flour. Undated, but circa 1940. Stapled booklets in light card covers (covers are a little age discoloured with some marks, oxidised around staples). Both internally generally neat, clean and bright barring a few signs of fingering and a little age discolouration; oxidising staples show through; the cookery book has a previous owner's name inside front cover. 12mo. Janet Johnstone was McDougall's cookery expert at the time and as well as producing recipes books, was on hand to the public to provide baking and cooking guidance and advice, from McDougall's experimental bakery. McDougall's Cookery Book went through many edition and is still quite easy to find; the Pudding book is much harder to find.
