First edition.  206pp.  Green cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering on the spine.  8vo.  A little rubbed and rounded at spine ends and corners, faded around edges and over spine.  Text block edges lightly toned.  Internally neat, clean, bright and tight.  In its original worn dust wrappers, a little toned, bumped and rubbed at edges, with a closed tear over the upper leading corner.

The letters of Edith Summerskill to her daughter Shirley.  Edith as a physician and feminism and a Labour politician and a minister in the Government of Clement Attlee.  Her daughter Shirley also became a Member of Parliament, for the constituency of Halifax, serving as the Minister of State for Home Affairs in the governments of Harold Wilson and James Callaghan.
