A deluxe numbered edition, limited to 380 copies, of which 370 were offered for sale, this being No. 10. 336pp, tipped in plate frontispiece, 403 further illustrations including plates and tipped in images. Bound in ivory buckram cloth with gilt titles on spine, printed on Arnold's Unbleached, Hand-made paper, bound in navy satin marker. Top edge gilt, all other edges untrimmed. Signed by Graily Hewitt on the limitation page. This copy contains the two specially designed and previously unpublished fonts by Hewitt, not present in all editions of this work. A little mild soiling on ivory boards' edges and spine ends, cloth very slightly rounded at spine tips; small orange dot on the front paste down, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight throughout. Ribbon marker is frayed at end. A great magnum opus of one of the finest calligraphers, packed with samples of Hewitt's work as well as historical examples of lettering, fonts, numerals etc. A lovely copy of this special volume. . 4to.
