It is not adhered to the book or to the jacket. Memoirs of a man to whom sailing was everything, who sailed many seas in many rigs but who remain a bargeman at heart. Born in 1907 in Dorset, he developed a love of sailing and the sea early on. He sailed around the world in the brig Lady Brassey.
