266pp, with monochrome plate frontispiece and occasional further similar illustrations. In red cloth-covered boards with gilt titles on spine. 8vo. Boards a little faded, gently rounded at corners and spine ends. Slightly cocked. Text block edges darkened. Frontispiece is a little warped, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original faded dust jacket, lightly rubbed at edges, scuffed at spine head, with a few minor marks. A skillful depiction of the differences between the political philosophies of Attlee, Morrison and Bevin, showing how these were shaped by the particular 'branch of socialism that each man's class-background and upbringing has led him to follow'.
