352pp. Colour plate frontispiece and three further similar illustrations, all by E Earnshaw. Decorated and illustrated, bright and clean, cloth boards (a little worn at edges, rounded at corners and spine ends). All edges coloured. Internally a little spotting on prelims, and previous owner's inscription on tanned front free endpaper, else neat, clean, bright and tight. Handsome volume. Before the advent of dust jackets, many books, especially those for children were bound in brightly coloured cloth with pictorial blocking in gold and colours, often on the spine as well as the front board. This volume is one of those, and a particularly clean and bright example. BookAddiction has many of these Edwardian and Victorian bindings in stock.
