Text in French.  One of an edition limited to 500 copies, this being No. 66. Delux binding. Bound in full burgundy calf's leather, decorated with gilt rules and devices front and spine.  Inner gilt dentelles.  Coloured endpapers. Large 8vo.  Hint of fading on backstrip else neat, clean, bright and throughout.  In a very good slipcase, just a little rubbed at points and very lightly shelf worn, with paper scar along part of spine.

Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume (1798-1875) was a French musical instrument maker and inventor.  His workshop was the foremost in Paris in the mid 19th century, producing fine instruments and introducing new developments for violins and violas.  He also  made copies of old instruments, some of which are hard to distinquish from the originals and.
