First edition, first impression.  160pp, with occasional line drawings in text.  Blue cloth boards, gilt titles on spine.  12mo. Cloth a little pushed at extremities, slightly faded at spine ends.  Some small stain spots on text block edges, mildly affecting last few leaves.  In its original shelf worn dust jacket, bumped and rubbed at edges with a couple of small chips on spine folds.

B A Young was wel- known as the long-time chief theatre reviewer for The Telegraph newspaper and Punch contributor.  He wrote with wit and vivacity, here turning his attention to the essential social skill  of avoiding people.  An essential guide for those who refuse to be exploited for the gain of others, with tips and tricks to help you avoid having to use a direct rebuff.
