Claims to be the first complete history to be published - "the want of a work of this kind has long been felt". Although the author is not identified in the volume, some sources attribute it to William Grainge, the English antiquarian and poet who wrote widely on Yorkshire and its history and topography.  Some on line sources give T S Turner as the author but this would seem to be an uncertain supposition based on the local publisher.  Hard to find volume in its original edition.
