This is an bit of an oddity. The volume contains no details of publication, editor, sources or any other supporting information. The style of binding suggests publication around 1950. The title on the spine - Historical Atlas BC 500 to AD 1914 is accurate, in the volume contains a plethora of historical maps showing a range of parts of the world from the earliest maps made to the early part of the 20th century. It starts with Hecataeus' map of the world from around BC 500 and ends with a map of the Balkan states from the early part of the 20th century. Around 300pp. In brown cloth boards (a little marked, spine sunned), with black spine label and gilt titles. Previous owner's name neatly inscribed on the front free endpaper. A fascinating volume. 12mo.
