[1937] [72pp]. Printed on heavy card throughout. Delightful 1930s pop up book in the Bookano series, produced by S Louis Giraud. Giraud is credited with leading the revival of moveable books in the post first world war period. His pop-ups were patented as 'living models' because each scene unfolds on a double page spread which is designed to be seen from multiple angles. Colour illustrated boards, gently rubbed at edges and mildly bumped on corners. Internally bright and clean with few signs of age. All four pop-ups present and working, but three could do with minor repair. Second pop-up is a two action model. Monotone blue illustrated endpapers (the Nightingale at the front, the Garden of Paradise at the rear) and one further colour illustration (the Little Mermaid), plus many b/w illustrations. Nice, solid, tight copy. 0 0
