A complete run of Hugo Griebert's 'Griebert's Philatelic Notes & Offers, including every issue from No. 1 in October 1908 to Vol VI, No. 2 in September 1921. Printed in red and black, with occasional illustrations and contemporary ads. Stapled. 4to. All the issues are in very good condition, with some gentle edge wear and the occasional creased corner. Occasional spine darkening but generally remarkably bright and clean, and includes insert for each volume with index. Griebert's Philatelic Notes & Offers is a remarkable source of information, containing notes, etc. on stamps and stamp collecting and insight into a contemporary stamp dealer's offering. Hugo Griebert (1869-1924) was a stamp collector himself, a published author on philatelic matters and a stamp dealer. He published Philatelic Notes and Offers between 1908 and 1921; and was the author of A Study of Stamps of Uruguay (1910) and The Stamps of Spain 1850-54 (which is often cited and promoted in these journals) (1919). He received the Crawford Medal for the latter, finally disposing of his stock to Stanley Gibbons in 1921. A very rare find and a minefield of information for stamp collectors.
