x, 308pp, with plate frontispiece, five further plate illustrations and woodcuts in text.  Quarter bound in brown cloth over darker cloth with decorative onlay, gilt rules and gilt lettering on spine.  8vo.  Boards very slightly rubbed at corners.  Replaced backstip, a little crumpled. Upper text block edge a little spotted.  Internally neat, clean, bright and tight.

Written by William Sparrow Simpson (1859-1942), an Anglican priest, this book explores the history of St Paul's Cathedral and its surroundings from the 13th to 17th century through a series of essays and articles.
