Cloth a little rubbed at corners and spine ends, rounded on spine tips, a little rubbing on joints. Slightly foxed on text block edges. Previous owner's name, dated 1938, neatly inked on front paste down, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. Volume now protected in stiff Perspex wrapper, fitted without the use of tape or adhesives. A biographical and professional study of Arthur Herman Gilkes, headmaster at Dulwich College from 1885 to 1914.
