Gentlemen Prefer Blondes: The Illuminating Diary of a Professional Lady (Hutchinson's Famous Copyright Novels, No. 162).
Undated but circa 1930. 96pp, 'intimately illustrated' by Ralph Barton. In printed paper wraps. 8vo. Pulp wraps heavily worn, scratched in centre of front panel, chapped at edges, partially detached at base of spine, scuffed at spine ends, with small loss in upper right corner, small spot of rusting on verso. Pages are tanned, with edge damage around lower leading corner. Hutchinson's Famous Copyright Novels was a series of previously published novels issued in magazine style. The series began and in the mid 1920s and ended in the mid 1930s, effectively killed off by the arrival on the market of Penguin's revolutionary paperbacks. Classic jazz age frivolity, this is the novel that inspired the 1953 musical comedy film of the same name, starring Jane Russell and Marilyn Munroe.
