Undated but circa 1900. Complete in eight volumes. Each volume circa 160pp with publisher's adverts at end, many engraved illustrations in text and a total of 320 colour plate botanical illustrationa. In firm green canvas covered boards, richly decorated with floral motifs and gilt lettering front and spine. 12mos. Cloth on all volumes is a little rubbed on edges, rubbed and rounded on corners and spine tips, some minor fraying head and heel of spines. Spine and text block edges a little sunned and dull. Several volumes have some mild toning to endpapers but generally internally neat, clean, bright and tight, with stunning colour plate illustrations. Volume one is very slightly loose. Volume seven has a partially detached front free endpaper. Volume six has a minor crack on front hinge and light creasing on four pages. A very nice set, hard to find complete (volumes/series 1 to 5 are more common than the latter three volumes/series).
