Single sheet printed on one side, circa 25 by 15 cm. Colour printed, engraved and illuminated with gold and other elaborate decorations. An engraved sheet presented by the Universal Magazine (presumably issued with one of its numbers) containing facsimile signatures of Queen Victoria her Cabinet Ministers during the South African War of 1899-1900. Lithography by Percival Jones Ltd. In very good condition - bright and fresh - with just very gentle rubbing and rounding on corners, small red ink mark on upper edge. The Universal Magazine was a short-lived enterprise, with 21 issues between February 1900 and January 1902. It contained mostly non-fiction articles but carried some stories, for instance by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Emile Zola was a contributor to the first issue. No copies recorded on OCLC.
