[1912]. No. 120 of a numbered first edition limited to 800 copies. 40pp plus 32 tissue guarded monochrome tipped in plate illustrations. Half bound in brown leather cover beige paper-covered boards. Light brown endpapers. Elephant folio. Boards heavily rubbed at edges, rounded and worn through on corners and spine ends, leather rubbed and chipped on corners and around spine, some inert damp staining, backstrip absent. Some of the tissue guards are spotted and/or mildly toned at edges, and one is creased else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. A handsome volume, printed on handmade paper with a magnificent collection of plate illustrations showing the layout, design and furniture setting of some of the finest English country houses of the Elizabethan era.
