First edition, first printing. One of a numbered, large paper edition limited to 150 copies, printed on Borzoi rag paper, signed by the author on the limitation page. The first ten copies of the edition separately number from A to J, this copy being E. x, 244pp, with a tissue-guarded frontispiece and further monochrome plate illustrations. Quarter bound in vellum over decorated paper boards, gilt lettering and decorations on the spine, in a publisher's slipcase. 8vo. Spine slightly faded, slightly toned on endpapers else neat, clean, bright and tight throughout. Slipcase a little worn, rubbed and toned at edges, spine label tanned, lightly soiled with minor scratch scratches and chips, slight bump at spine head.
