First edition, first impression. 182pp. In red cloth boards with gilt titles on spine. 12mo. Very slightly rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends. Top text block edge has a couple of small, mild marks. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original bright and crisp dust jacket, unclipped. Golden 'Crime Club' sticker on front panel. Dust jacket now protected in a Brodart-style sleeve, fitted without the use of tape or adhesives. Andrew Garve was one of the pseudonyms of journalist and crime writer, Paul Winterton, founder member of the Crime Writers' Association. Counterstroke was his final novel before his death in 2001.
