Not dated but circa 1947. 78pp. In blue cloth-covered boards with gilt titles front and spine. Slim 4to. Cloth a little rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends, patchily faded. Typescript letter from the editor of the Young Musician pasted onto front free endpaper, indicating that the volume was awarded as a prize in a young musician competition in 1947; else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. A collection of some 78 traditional songs, with musical scores and lyrics, for singing in ensemble. Songs include The Boy Minstrel, Since I First Saw Your Face, Golden Slumbers, The Oak and the Ash, The Leather Bottel, John Peel, It was a Lover and his Lass, Loch Lomond, Strawberry Fair, Toll for the Brave, Where the Bee Sucks, etc.
