118pp, tissued-guarded frontispiece and a further 120 plate illustrations of which 13 are in colour and tissue-guarded.  Cloth-covered boards, richly decorated, with gilt lettering front and spine.  Top edge gilt.  Illustrated endpapers.  Title page printed in red and black.  Tall 4to.  Cloth is worn and discoloured, a few small scratches on front panel, some marks, gently rubbed at corners and spine ends.  Text block edges a little toned.  Free endpapers tanned else internally neat, clean and tight.

An extensive exploration of the life and work of the English painter, lithographer and designer Charles Conder (1868-1909), a key figure in the Heidelberg school of art.  Handsomely produced and now very hard to find.
