British Enamels of the Early Iron Age (Six Pictorial Cards)
Not dated but circa 1910. A set of six colour postcards of Early British enamels from the collection held by the British Museum. In their present condition, the enamelled bronzes give little idea of their former glory as the enamel in most cases has cracked and fallen out. These photographic reproductions have been coloured to represent the original appearance, where in some cases the bronze was blackened to contrast with the red enamel. Set is complete with a small 4pp leaflet giving details of the enamels, and presented in its original pale blue paper envelope. (The envelope is a little rubbed and faded, the postcards are in fine condition - bright and fresh.
