[1926] 1st edition (likely only edition). 20pp. Blue card covered boards with gilt lettering. (A little rubbed at edges, lightly bumped on lower leading corner, small chip at base of spine, slightly soiled). Internally neat, clean and bright, and firmly bound, with small crack in paper along the gutter of front endpapers. Dust Jacket is rubbed at edges and folds, lightly chipped on extremities, and soiled, with a mug ring on front, but complete. Dust jacket now protected in archival quality mylar wrapper which is not adhered to the book or jacket in anyway. It is thought that L Blaber was a pseudonym for Edward Heron-Allen, the English polymath, writer, violin maker, scientist and Persian scholar who translated the works of Omar Khayyam. Brave Old Britain was written as intentionally poor poetry, with Heron-Allen himself putting it on a par with the works of Amanda McKetterick Ros and John Litart (think William McGonagall). LHD records three copies, one in the British Library, one in the National Library of Scotland and the other in the Bodleian. Hard to find volume.
