Signed and inscribed by author 'To Sir Esme and Lady Isabella Howard with best wishes and warmest thanks from The Author' (Sir Esme [later Baron] Howard was a British Diplomat. He was in Stockholm throughout the First World War and subsequently became Ambassador to the United States in 1924.).
