First edition, first printing. 252pp, with publisher's catalogue at rear. In green cloth cover boards. Tall 12mo. Boards a little worn, rubbed and rounded at corners, slightly frayed on spine based, cracked at head of a faded and fragile backstrip. Internally there's some faint, occasional spotting, more intense on endpapers. Bellows to Mend is novel about hunting. There's a love story or two, and a little piece of London life in the early 20th century, but its the horses and hounds and pink coats who are the heroes, and a tired fox the villain of the piece. It was panned by reviewers at the time of its release in the 1930 but was popular enough to be reprinted and is now a classic piece of vintage fiction. Author's first novel. A very hard to find title.
