254pp. Bound volume containing all 12 issues of the Monthly Circular, issued by the Association of Municipal Corporations in 1927. Half bound in calf's leather over textured cloth-covered boards. Spine labels and gilt titles on spine. 4to. . Spine leather very worn, crumbled away at head and heel (appearing somewhat scorched towards to heel). Rubbed and chipped on corners. Front hinge cracked, some tanning on endpapers. Stamp, of Holystone Town Clerk on the front free endpaper. Some faint and occasional spotting. The issues, now flat, would appear to have been folded before being bound into this single volume. Internally clean and clear. The Monthly Circular, for local government, contains digests of legal proceedings and cases before the courts, often reprinted with Counsel Opinions, on issues affecting local government, as well as on Parliamentary Proceedings and legal matters. This volume addresses issues including the Central Electricity Board, Early Closing of Shops, Water Supplies and Lock Up Shops, Land Charges, Road Construction, Education in Prisons, Hairdressers and Barber's Shops Sunday Closing, Education and the Employment of Young People, War Bonuses for Police Officers, Nuisance caused by Mosquitoes, and many, many more.
