Armorial Families : A Directory of Gentlemen of Coat-Armour (Volumes I and II)
Availability:
Out of stock
Complete in two volumes. Reissue of original publication in 1929. xliv, 2192pp (continuously paginated across both volumes), illustrated, including 66 tissue-guarded colour plates. In rich cloth-covered boards with black spine labels and gilt lettering to spines. Illustrated endpapers. (Boards are strong, sharp and square; upper text block edges on both volumes quite markedly dust stained and flecked; else internally neat, clean, bright and tight). Both volumes in original dust jackets, lightly bumped on upper edges and patchily faded. A handsome set forming a straight-shooter about the age of swords and shields; it debunks false claims of ancestry and the fanciful claims of those tempted to fabricate or flatter and, in over 2000 pages, lists the legitimate names in the armorial roll of honour. A large and heavy set which will likely incur an additional charge for overseas shipping.
