Hollo was a Finnish poet, working largely in London and the US. & It is a Song was his fourth collection of poetry to be published and is reputed to have been one of the books Beatle Paul McCartney bought from the counter-cultural Indica Bookshop the day before it opened. John Rolph was the founder of The Scorpion Press.
