112pp, six wood engravings by Clifford Webb as illustrations. Beige cloth boards (a little discoloured at edges). Internally neat, clean, bright and tight, barring a couple of small smudgy marks on the first page of text. In its original dust jacket (a little worn and rubbed at edges, small mild scuff near spine, perhaps a little faded). Jacket fitted with archival-quality mylar wrapper to protect & prolong its life. It is not adhered to the book or to the jacket. Unusually for this fine press, the edition appears to be unlimited. The Golden Cockerel Press was an English fine press which operated between 1920 and 1961. It produced high quality, handmade limited editions of classic works. The type was hand-set and the books were printed on handmade paper or vellum. A feature of Golden Cockerel books was the original illustrations, usually wood engravings, contributed by leading artists.
