An Old Description of the Site of the Cistercian Abbey of Clairvaux; Further Notes of Clairvaux and a Note on Citeaux
Articles reprinted from the Yorkshire Archaeological Journal, Vol XIX, pp1-18, 1907, and Vol XX, pp1-15, 1909, with map of Clairvaux site after Milley (1708) and Vacandard (1895), 8 plate illustrations, 5 extra illustrations (original photographs) and a sheet of manuscript notes following a visit to Clairvaux in 1908 bound in at rear. (The handwritten notes are in French). Quarter bound in leather over cloth (leather a little scuffed and rubbed at edges, crumbling at spine tips, catalogue marking at top). Internally, some spotting on endpapers and prelims; occasional small, neat annotations in text. The annotations have the appearance of being authorial corrections. Archaeological, historical and perceptual examinations of the site and ruins of Clairvaux Abbey.
