One of a numbered edition limited to 400 copies, this being No. 77. xii, 532pp, on laid paper, with a tissue-guarded frontispiece and fourteen further etchings on steel, all by George Cruickshank. Title page printed in red and black. In grey cloth covered boards, with paper title label on spine (boards rubbed at edges, rounded and frayed at corners and spine ends, small area of dark stain around upper leading corner, spine label chipped, rubbed and marked but not obscuring titles. Endpapers showing a little tanning, previous owner's name neatly written on front paste down, gutter between front endpapers slightly strained, tissue-guard browned, else internally neat, clean and bright. A flyer for Routledge's Sir Joshua Reynold's Edition of Boswell's Life of Johnson has been tipped in on the front free endpaper. Square, binding firm. A handsome volume.
