Not dated but likely c 1900. 590pp. In red cloth-covered boards, decorated, with gilt and blind embossed lettering. Coloured endpapers. Boards a little worn, rounded on corners, fraying at ends of heavily sunned spine. Endpapers (lightly chipped and cracked at gutters). Some occasional mild foxing, else internally neat, clean, and tight. Emma Jane Worboise (born 1825) began writing when she was very young, publishing her first book, Alice Cunningham, in 1846. Many of her works were evangelical in nature. Nice, vintage volume.
