16pp. Double wire stitched card covers (a little faded and worn at edges, mild rusting around staples, a few mild marks). Internally bright and fresh, barring a little browning around staples and one short section of underlining. One of Churchill's greatest orations, made in the House of Commons on 20th August 1940, in which he first used the iconic phrase: "Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few", referring to the Royal Air Force which, at the time, was engaged in the Battle of Britain, a pivotal air battle with the German Luftwaffe. Pilots who fought in the Battle of Britain have since been known as 'the few'. The speech was considered so significant that it was rushed into print before the end of the month.
