Facsimile reproduction of original 15th century text.  One of the essays accompanying the reproduction appears in Japanese as well as English, all other text in English.  36, 76pp, plus numerous black and white plate illustrations.  Cream paper-covered boards with gilt lettering.  Illustrated endpapers.  8vo.  Boards a little pushed at corners and spine ends.  Barcode label at head of front free endpaper and stamp on verso, else internally neat clean, bright and tight.  In its original dust wrapper, shelf worn, bumped at edges, rubbed on corners and spine ends, a scattering of spot marks and mild indentations.

This is a facsimile reproduction of Jan Ympyn Christoffels 16th century work, A Notable and Very Excellente Woorke, the second ever work in English on double entry bookkeeping - the cornerstone of modern accountancy.  First published in Dutch under the title Nieuwe Instructie, in 1543, the first English edition appeared four years later in 1547. (Another English work, A Profitable Treatyce by Hgh Oldcastle, was printed in London in 1543 but no copy has survived.)  The facsimile is followed by three essays on Ympyn, his works and impact.  Very hard to find title.
