This is an ex library copy, with light library markings on the front free endpaper only and remains of a protective sleeve on the paste downs else a very clean and neat. Cloth is a little rubbed at corners and spine ends, with a minor indentation on the lower edge and shadowing from removal of a label on the spine.
Ruxton was Indian-born doctor convicted and hanged for the murders of his wife, Isabella and his housemaid, Mary Jane Rogerson in 1935. The murders are commonly referred to as the Bodies Under the Bridge or Jigsaw Murders. Buxton himself was called the Savage Surgeon in the papers at the time.
