Diana Blanche Barrymore (1921-1960) was an American film and stage actress, proclaimed as 1942s most sensational new screen personality when she signed with Universal Studios. A member of the famous Drew- Barrymore acting family, her father was John Barrymore and she would have been aunt to actress Drew Barrymore had her career and life not been cut short by addiction and depression. She released her autography (ghost written by Gerold Frank) in 1957; it was turned into a film with the same title a year later by Warner Bros but it was not a success either with critics or at the box office.
