The Serica set out from the Mersey River in 1867, heading for Aden on the Red Sea, but was wrecked in 1868 in the Indian Ocean. Thomas Cubbin was a mariner on board and this is his account of the voyage and wrec, with an historical foreword by Valerie Cottle.
