56pp stapled booklet with black and white illustrations, in illustrated stiff card covers. 8vo. A little gentle edge wear to card covers; some small pencil annotations on first leaf, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. Some related correspondence and an erratum slip loosely laid in.
Few statesman of military heroes have been given such a funeral as that accorded to eight South London boy scouts who lost their lives in the accidental Leysdown Tragedy in 1912. Just as fascinating is the rediscovery of their story and how it led to the raising of a new monument in Nunhead Cemetery to replace the earlier 'Mourning Scout' memorial which had been vandalised in the 1960s.
