S K Patil was a former Congress leader from Maharashtra; a freedom fighter, journalist and lawyer.  A three time Member of Parliament for Bombay, he served as a minister in the governments of Nehru, Shastri and Indira Gandhi. This publication, from early in his career, came shortly after his release from imprisonment for activities related to the Quit India movement in 1942, led by Mahatma Gandhi.
