Complete in five volumes.  Each volume with a tissue-guarded engraved frontispiece, decorative head and tailpieces throughout.  In cherry red cloth-covered boards, front panels framed with blind rules, gilt lettering on the spine.  Cloth is a little rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends. Two volumes have some blushed fading on backstrips.  Some spotting on text block edges.  Internally neat, fresh, clean and tight.

Translated into English from the original text of M Le Roux de Lincy, with an essay on the Heptameron by George Saintsbury.  The Heptameron is a collection of short stories written by Marguerite de Navarre (1492-1549), inspired by Boccaccio's The Decameron.  The collection (incomplete) first appeared in print in 1558.  A very nice, bright complete set.
