del Castillo (1933-2024) as child was interned with his mother in a concentration camp during the second world. Strong influenced by Fyodor Dostoevsky, his writing received many awards. The Guitar, a study in loneliness, opens a window on the dark and primitive minds of the inhabitants of an isolated corner of Spain.
