Unpaginated but circa 400pp, with many black and white plate illustrations. Quarter bound in white cloth over green cloth-covered boards, black titling on front panel, gilt lettering on black relief on spine. Folio. Cloth is a little worn and marked, gently rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends, with noticeable soiling and toning to white spine cloth, a little sunned over spine. Front hinge cracking and rear hinge broken, slightly loosening rear board. Gift inscription neatly inked on the front paste down, dated 1943. Endpapers a little toned else internally neat and clean. A handsome and imposingly heavy volume.
