Lovecraft (d. 1937) was an American writer of weird, horror, fantasy and science fiction, best remembered for creating Cthulhu Mythos and inspiring terms such as Lovecraftian horror. The underlying theme of much of his fiction is cosmicism - a literary concept which holds that humanity is a trivial force within the wider universe.
