Complete in five volumes. With chats and illustrations by the author. Volumes are uniformly bound in brown buckram cloth with gilt lettering and decorations front and spine. 8vos. Occasional slight signs of rubbing on corners; internally neat, clean, bright and tight throughout. Each presented in its original glassine wrapper. The wrappers are slightly shelf worn; volume five lacks its glassine wrapper. A very presentable and handsome set.
Sailing Tours was a series originally published between 1892 and 1895. The five volumes were ambitiously titled The Coasts of Essex and Suffolk; The Nore to the Scilly Isles; Falmouth to the Loire; Land's End to the Mull of Galloway including the East Coast of Ireland; and The Clyde to the Thames Round North. Their reissue together with a new introduction by John Leather makes for fascinating reading for the modern yachtsman and once more makes available this delightful series. Hard to find as a complete set.
