A reproduction of Robert Baugh's 180 map of Shropshire, reproduced on nine large folding sheets, house in a slipcase.  Sheets and introductory booklet are neat, clean and bright throughout.  The slipcase is lightly rubbed on corners, slightly soiled and a little shelf worn.

Robert Baugh (1748-1832) was a surveyor, copper-plate engravers and map-maker; and for many years the parish clerk and church warden at Llanymynech.  He engraved John Evans' noted map of North Wales (1795) before producing his own map of Shropshire, for which he was awarded a silver medal and 15 guineas by the Royal Society of Arts: the map is noted for its sharply engraved lines and its accuracy.
