Friedman (1924-2007) was professor of Education and the University of South Carolina, at previously at Northwestern University and UC Berkley; he served as metrologist in the US Army Air Force during world war two. As founder of the Institute for Evidence-based Decision-making, he contributed widely to the field of education as well as in psychology and understanding of human behaviour.
