Published by the Museum of Modern Art in New York upon the occasion of an exhibition of the same name in 1997; the exhibition also travelled to the Heyward Gallery in London later in the year. Featuring the artworks and paintings of a range of artists, with a focus on Cezanne and Magritte, it also contains and series of critical essays around the themes of reality and fiction in art and the surrealist movement.
