Covers are worn and faded, rubbed on edges and rounded at corners and spine ends, a few mild marks and very slightly sunned over spine. Text block edges dust dulled. Lack front free endpaper. Label on half title page indicating the volume was once held at the monastery of Our Lady of Charity, Bartestree; and a previous owner's details inked on half title. Some tanning on front and rear endpapers and faint and occasional spotting on first and last few leaves else internally neat, clean and tight.
A hard to find title concerning devotion to the Virgin Mary and her praise; but rather than containing mediations and reflections on Our Lady's life and virtues - as many similar titles do - "its aim is rather to show the enthusiasm with which devotion to her has been taken up in all countries and by all classes of persons, especially in Catholic England".
