First edition, first impression. 408pp, with monochrome plate illustrations. Quarter bound in black cloth over red cloth-covers boards, titles on spine. 8vo. An ex lending library copy with library labels on spine and upper panel, stamps in front endpapers, stamp on title page, label on copyright page, pencilled annotations on contents page and lending apparatus on rear endpapers. Cloth a little rubbed at spine ends. Corner loss (clipped away?) to front paste down. There's a bookplate on the half title page indicating the volume was presented to the Hove Library at Shenandoah College and Conservatory of Music by Mrs Frank Tappan. For all its faults, basically a clean and tidy copy, firmly bound and presentable.
A record of daily life on the Soviet Union for the ordinary citizen.
